chido

/ˈt͡ʃido/

adjective/ˈt͡ʃido/

cool, acceptable, easy; (of a person) attractive

Possibly from Asturian xidu (“nice, beautiful”), brought to Mexico by a wave of Asturian immigrants in the 19th century. Or, possibly from the slang chiro (“excellent”). Not to be confused with chivo.
