a person from Bogotá whose parents were born elsewhere (as distinguished from a cachaco); a person from Bogotá, regardless of ancestry.

Of Spanish origin (as opposed to an indigenous language). It may have originated as a term mocking a rhotacism phenomenon among Muisca speakers of Spanish, or it may have originated from Peruvian Spanish.
