aburguesar

To make bourgeois — usually reflexive (aburguesarse), meaning to become comfortable, conventional, or complacent in a way associated with the middle/upper-middle class, often with a critical edge. Common in social, political, and cultural commentary.

• Los críticos dicen que el barrio se ha aburguesado en la última década. — Critics say the neighborhood has become gentrified over the last decade.
• Sus amigos le reprochan que se haya aburguesado tanto. — His friends criticize him for having become so bourgeois/complacent.
• El movimiento perdió fuerza a medida que se aburguesaba su liderazgo. — The movement lost momentum as its leadership grew more bourgeois.

Note the double sense: aburguesarse can mean either 'to gentrify' (of a neighborhood) or 'to become complacent/conventional' (of a person) — context decides which, and English needs two different words to translate it.
