An archaic and regional form of alargar (to lengthen, stretch out) — still heard in some rural and dialectal speech, and historically used for stretching out a hand or a distance, but standard modern Spanish uses alargar exclusively.
Using alongar in modern standard writing or conversation — alargar is the only form a contemporary learner should actually use; alongar will read as archaic or dialectal.
