An archaic, now rare verb meaning to confer the bachiller (high-school-graduate) degree on someone; reflexively, bachillerarse meant to earn that degree oneself. Largely displaced today by graduarse or terminar el bachillerato.
Dated and rarely used in modern Spanish — graduarse (de bachillerato) is what virtually every speaker actually says today for "to graduate high school."
Often confused with graduar.
