Two everyday senses: to raise a toast (brindar por algo/alguien, "to drink to something/someone") and, more broadly, to offer or provide (brindar apoyo, brindar la oportunidad — to offer support, to offer the opportunity). The second, figurative sense is extremely common in formal and journalistic Spanish.
Learners who only learn the 'toast' meaning are often confused when brindar shows up in news or business Spanish with no drinks in sight — the 'offer/provide' sense is at least as common as the toasting one.
