Rivière-Héva

/ʁi.vjɛ.ʁe.va/

proper noun/ʁi.vjɛ.ʁe.va/

a municipality of La Vallée-de-l'Or Regional County Municipality, Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Quebec, Canada

Related: Hévarivois

The municipality is named after a nearby river, the name of which is uncertain. The river may have been named after Éva Girard, the wife of surveyor Fernand Fafard (1882 - 1955). Alternatively, the name of the river may derive from Norman heve (“hollow rock”).
