An obsolete legal verb meaning to bring a lawsuit or take legal action — an old-fashioned equivalent of demandar or litigar. It was already marked as antiquated by the 1780 dictionary, and its last known uses in Spanish texts date to the 16th century; it survived as a defective verb, used only in the infinitive.
Trying to conjugate agir beyond the infinitive — it was a defective verb even in its own era, so forms like *agió or *agiré never really existed in standard use.
Often confused with demandar.
