To notify or inform someone of something — a formal verb used mainly in Rioplatense (Argentina, Uruguay) legal, journalistic, and bureaucratic Spanish (anoticiar a las partes de la resolución). In most other Spanish-speaking countries, notificar or informar is used instead.
Using anoticiar outside Argentina/Uruguay and expecting it to sound natural — elsewhere notificar or informar is the standard, more widely understood choice.
Often confused with notificar.
