crear

The general, all-purpose verb for creating or bringing something into existence, from art and business to problems and opportunities — much broader in everyday use than the more specific inventar (to invent) or fundar (to found).

• El artista creó una escultura impresionante. — The artist created an impressive sculpture.
• Vamos a crear una cuenta nueva. — Let's create a new account.
• Esa decisión creó muchos problemas. — That decision created a lot of problems.

Crear is transitive and needs a direct object (crear algo) — don't drop the object the way English sometimes lets "to create" stand alone.
